Can I file unemplyement if I sign for 2 wks severence pay, just laid off outta nowhere and without good reason?

Go to your local unemployment office and file a claim with the state Dept. of Labor. You will most likely be able to collect unemployment although the two week severance pay will delay your check by two weeks although you should be able to collect two weeks longer at the other end if you haven't replaced the job by then.
