Are you subject to Overtime Pay under the minimum wage Law if your normal work schedule is past 40 hours/week?

hmmmm. I live in New York. I know that the minimum wage is seven bucks and fifteen cents here which makes every hour after 40 hours Ten bucks and seventy three cents. They have to give you 50% extra of the hourly rate that they decide to pay and the least employers can give under the minimum wage law is $7.15 for state, $ 6.55 for Federal. Which ever of these wages is higher is the one that is in effect, but if the Federal minimum wage surp the state one that will result in an immediate increase in the state minimum wage. Now my question is what if you find a job that has a regualer schedule which is past 40 hour's in a week does that employer owe you overtime pay under the minimum wage law?. What if you work a schedule past 40 hours which for about 2 days? or even little days that, are still entitled to overtime pay?. I know that people that work in most of the job fields are entitled to overtime pay, which ones are not. What about tipped employees, are they entitled 50% an hours pay extra for every hour after 40?. Please help me on this one.
