Searching for a spaceship based scifi tv movie that showed in the 90's?

The movie has a crew fighting against 5 enemy ships. cg graphics wasn't the best but decent qual. the protagonists' ship has 4 huge missiles two on each side. The enemy has laser turrets mounted on their ships. one of the fight scenes is in the tail of a comet as a way to hide (i think this is where legend of the rangers got their behind comet's tail idea from) and they were able to take out two enemy ships with one hit. Another stand out point was in the beginning of the movie one of the characters was explaining how their FTL works by the means of folding space to a point (this scene was at a party formal military party). it kinda resembles the old tv series above and beyond. I think that's about when this tv movie premiered. Even with an FTL drive it seems like the whole movie took place within the solar system. Anyone know of the title? I haven't been able to find it on wiki or google. There's gotta be some Scifi person out there who knows what i'm talking about.
